Alright, where is my soap box…actually I think I am going to make a portable version so I can take it with me wherever I go. This little diatribe was inspired by the link that you will find at the bottom of this post. Actually the 12 video’s documenting the North Pacific Garbage patch caused me to add the category as a whole which I have been putting off due to my annoyance of the entire “GREEN”concept becoming more of a fad than the educational tool it needs to be! For 2-3 generations, AKA since the late 1800’s, man has single handedly fucked up this Earth! I am not using the term “fucked up” lightly, it is entirely appropriate. The more research that I do into the topic the more disturbing the reality is. In other words, if you were scared and appalled at the reality that Al Gore has been presenting to us through the movie, video and interviews for the past couple of years, well brace yourself that is only the beginning. Beyond the melting icecaps is a garbage patch the size of Texas in the ocean, toxic chemicals on the food you eat and what is starting to look like a century long coverup by the governments of the world on what they were allowing (and participating and profiting in) manufactures and themselves to do.
Please, please wake up and join your local activist organization, whatever and wherever it is and start to educate the public around you. It is way beyond a “problem”, it is an epidemic. It is time we quit ingesting chemicals (much less our children!) through our food. It is time we quit buying personal sized water bottles and throughing them out. It is time we quite using building materials that off gas poison’s in the air we breath for decades! It is time we quit driving 4 blocks to the corner store. And it is definitley time we quit having our lives run by advertyising that drives us to constantly upgrade everything and THROUGH OUT THE OLD! Humanity, get off of your lazy ass and DO SOMETHING!
Skip one show tonight on your 42″ plasma and WATCH all 12 videos. It is 1 hour well spent.
