His work is amazing, charcoalesque drawings covering the entire sides of buildings. The interview offers some good insight into what drives this noble soul, as if the fact that a 42 year old street artist is out there getting it done is not enough! Have a read.

Many solutions have been contemplated and devised over the years. Some promising and some downright ridiculous. Nothing however has really adequately addressed both the financial and practical issues that befall the topic. Until Now! I truly believe this is a breakthrough concept by Michael Rakowitz . Cheap to make, simple to distribute, sustainable and practical. The shelter packs flat, is super lightweight, harnesses the hot air from a buildings heat vent and is fully portable so the user can easily pack it back up and transport it to their next destination. I am very impressed and inspired that there are great people doing great work to come up with great solutions to solve even greater problems!

I am very excited about Michael’s work. Bravo!

YES WE DID! What an amazing evening and amazing day after. I think this was an excellent example of the people coming together and getting the job done. Records were broken everywhere, History has been made, and the only HOPE America has had in quite some time is now President!

I think a huge shout out has to go out to Shepard Fairy for his poster work promoting the Obama campaign. It’s press reached a frenzied level, the ebay prices for the original’s are out of control and the image spread through the internet at record speed creating the much needed hype for the younger generation to get out and vote!

Thank you Shepard and everyone that was inspired, believed and followed through to get this job done.

For us, the most inspiring street art, is when then motivation of the artist is to beautify ugly spaces. That’s why we love the Malmoe Streets Project so much.

In the city of Malmoe, Sweden, a group of artists have been replacing the drab boring street tiles that cover the city, with much more inspiring images.

I have to agree, this is a great idea and opens the mind even further to more uses of the landscape around you!
